Sweetheart Rally – Day 3, Fredericksburg and Valentine’s Dinner

Today was day 3 of the rally. We kicked off the day over at the rally hall to enjoy Nelly Muffins. After breakfast, Nancy and I went to Fredericksburg. Later in the afternoon, we were off to Buckhorn Lake RV for the Valentine’s Day Dinner.

Nelly did a great job on muffins. Not sure how many she made – but it was quite a few. Kevin cooked up 3 pounds of bacon. I provided support and I worked on work stuff 🙂

Emme told us it was “take your dog to Fredericksburg day”. She’s so smart 🙂 So we headed to Fredericksburg. We did our banking there, then went to Hondo’s on Main for lunch. They have an outdoor courtyard and they were okay with us having Emme with us. I had a side salad and a bowl of Smoky Potato Soup w/ Poblano and other goodies. Yummo! Nancy had a mushroom and swiss burger and we split a small order of curly fries. Good food and plenty filling.

After lunch, we went back to the Museum of the Pacific War. We were here earlier in the week but it was too cold to tour the outdoor exhibits. We had a nice leisurely stroll through them today. The weather was gorgeous too at about 80 degrees.

Around 4:00, a large group of rally attendees caravanned from Guadalupe RV Resort, over to Buckhorn Lake RV Resort for the Valentine’s Dinner with a Band. Before dinner though, we all sat at the outdoor bar and enjoyed $1 margaritas. At 5:30, we headed into the barn to find our tables. Around 6 pm, the staff began to serve dinner. We shared a 32oz T-Bone Steak Dinner for two. Good as usual and plenty of it left-over 🙂

After dinner, the band played. We stayed for the music until their first break. They were pretty good. They got a lot of people up dancing.

Thus ends another great day in Texas!
