Overnight Stop, Shopping and Dinner near Memphis, TN
We arrived at our overnight stop around 3:30 pm today after an uneventful 300 miles of travel.
We’re at Memphis East Campground in nearby Lakeland, TN. And just like the reviews for it, it’s a row of sites in the center of a Mobile Home Park. The park is actually pretty well cared for. While the interior roads of the mobile home park are great (new asphalt), the road that the overnight RV sites are on is gravel and a bit rough. I asked for a 50 amp FHU site and when I saw it, I didn’t care for it based on trees and what would have been a real difficult space to get into with our rig. Simple call to the office and problem solved. I moved to site 47. It’s a 30 amp FHU pull-through. It will work just fine 🙂
We have a credit we need to use for Costco and there’s one nearby, so before dinner, we did a bit of shopping. I looked at a lot of things I’d like to get as door prizes for the 2014 North American Heartland Owners Rally. So time well spent.
For dinner, we decided to use a gift card we received from one of our children for Christmas. We went to Applebees. The food was decent and it was nice to only pull out a few bucks to pay the difference. Thank you to whichever of our kids that gave it to us 🙂
Tomorrow, we push the rest of the way home – just over 300 miles.
