New item for Travel and Camping – Magellan RoadMate 700 GPS

In 2004, we took our trailer camping 15 times and spent over 30 nights on the road. In addition to this, we travelled to MN to visit our kids a couple of times and went to Yorkiefest III on Ohio.

We usually route ourselves using maps, atlases and online mapping services.

We hope 2005 brings us the same travel opportunities as this year. But we will enter 2005 with a technological improvement in routing. We will be using the Magellan RoadMate 700 GPS.

I had researched GPSs over the last couple years and got really interested early this year for potential Geo-Caching (with a hand-held GPS). Ultimately, I let it go.

Recently, drove to a few events with our friends the Torsruds and Jeff has a Magellan RoadMate 500 in his Dodge RAM. It was very cool to see in use and I think Nancy and I both realized that we could really benfit from such a device on our future travels.

I researched GPSs once again and I did online searches for pricing and ended up buying a new Magellan RoadMate700 on eBay for $400 less than retail. I got it this week and have been having a blast learning it and using it. Hope it brings us even happier trails in 2005 and beyond.
