Berlin Germany – Day 6

March 16, 2014

Today, we chilled all day with family at home in Kleinmachnow.  Sean and I made pancakes for the family for breakfast, then we all did our own thing around home.

Sean and I ran out to one of the many local Döner shops and grabbed Döner Kebabs and Döner boxes for everyone.   A Turkish Döner is similar to a Greek Gyro or an Arab Shawarma.  Yummy stuff.

Nancy, Danielle and Tiffani spent hours sharing and researching genealogy, mostly on the Giocomarra side.  They decided they needed my Mom to fill in some gaps, so Danielle and I Skyped with her this afternoon.  It was barely 8 am in Iowa and Mom was a bit groggy – sorry Mom 🙂  We had a nice chat and she helped us fill in some family tree gaps.

I spent some time showing Danielle the ropes of using a blog and some of the platform choices out there.  Then Dani showed us a lot of family pictures on her computer as well as some fun videos they made on some of their vacations.

For dinner, Sean and Danielle grilled cheeseburgers, made hotdogs and fries for dinner.

After dinner, most of us watched a movie.  We saw The Book Thief.  Nice movie.  Amber and Ashlyn made popcorn for us and fetched us some Magnum ice cream bars for our movie treats.  They are such sweet girls!
