2007 Heartland Southwest Regional Rally – Houston

During the gorgeous weekend of October 19-21, Nancy and I flew to Houston, Texas to help put on the 1st Annual Heartland Southwest Regional Rally. The rally was held at Rayford Crossing RV Resort in Spring, TX, just north of Houston. This campground to me, ties for being the best campground I have ever been to! Wow – do yourself a favor and check this place out when you are camping in the Houston area.

In all, there was about 40 of us in about 19 rigs and 1 cabin (Nancy and I). Our wagon master, Jay Coffman did a great job. Lots of fun, neat to see old friends from other rallies and great weather. Looking forward to doing it again next year!

Nest Protect Installed in Landmark RV

This evening, I installed the Nest Protect Smoke and CO detector in the RV. This has been on my list for a while and finally got it ordered and done. This is one of many tech items now installed in the coach. I installed the Protect in place of the OEM smoke detector.

Winterized the RV tonight

I’d been stressing over this for a couple of days. The thought of winterizing the RV at the Louisville South KOA at 7 am tomorrow in 20 some degree weather was not exciting me at all. Turns out, we had a spare hour we needed to leave to take Nancy to the airport and dinner….

Pretty lonely here in Goshen, Indiana at the Elkhart County 4H Fairgrounds today. But that will change each day this week as we approach the weekend. The Midwest RV SuperShow and Rally will be held here. Already, many dealers have all their trailers here and setup. A few RV friends of ours will be here…
