Pigeon Forge, TN – Day 2
Day 2 of our time here in Pigeon Forge began with some ducks waddling around our RV site after some overnight rain. I let Emme out to go potty and she took off after the ducks. I called her back and she stopped. The ducks were a bit startled but did not fly away. I think they’re used to being around people. It was funny watching them. They were using their bills in the water logged grass and shallow pools of water, pushing forward. Not sure if they were drinking water of eating something out of the grass.
We stayed warm in the RV last night. The overnight lows were in the low-20s. We ran the fireplace all night and had the gas furnace set to run if needed and we think it ran a few times. It’s 40 outside now (9 am) and we’re supposed to see 54 this afternoon with showers this afternoon and evening.
After breakfast, we went to the Tanger Outlets. We went to the Le Creuset store first. We ended up getting a round griddle pan “on-sale” that should work well on our induction cooktop at home. May even be able to make some crepes on it 🙂 After Le Creuset, we went to the Tools Direct store, the Corelle-Ware store, the Kitchen Essentials store and the Harry and David store. Didn’t buy much of anything at these stores.
For lunch, it was Five Guys – yum! Just as we began to eat our food, in walks 6 of our neighbors from Crossville. We knew they were coming to the RV show but didn’t know they be eating lunch at Five Guys and at the same time as us. It was a fun surprise. We all ended up eating together. Here’s the meal Nancy and I had.
After lunch, Nancy dropped me at the LeConte Center so I could work the Smoky Mountain RV Show with Byrd M in the RVs For Less display. Show attendance wasn’t overwhelming today, but we kept busy. Our Gardens friends showed up and spent time in our display. We watched the Lumberjack Feud competition too. It was right behind our display. And it was LOUD!
Here’s Byrd M at her Heartland Owners Club – TN Chapter table. Thank you Byrd and Nathan for all you do for the club!
Heartland Owners Club – KY Chapter Leader, Ken H showed up at the show this afternoon too. He and Faye are on their way to the Tampa show like us. After the show, Ken, Faye, Nancy and I and Howard and Linda P of RV-Dreams all met for dinner at Longhorn Steakhouse. Great dinner and conversation!
Back at the RV tonight to do this blog post, edit a bunch of show pictures I took today, then get them posted on Heartland’s Facebook page.
