Mowing the Railroad Right of Way
Here’s something you won’t see every day. I was in the truck eating my lunch when the RR track mounted machine passed by. It’s a lawn mower for the Railroad Right of Way. It moved down the track and munch the tall weeds for about 3 feet past the tracks.

Pretty lonely here in Goshen, Indiana at the Elkhart County 4H Fairgrounds today. But that will change each day this week as we approach the weekend. Braised Short Ribs – yum!
Tonight, Nancy used the early Christmas present she got me – a LeCruset braising pan. Â She cooked Braised Short Ribs with a Horseradish/Maple/Rosemary glaze. Â Lisa and Mike are in town for Christmas – we all enjoyed this meal!
Wow – It’s Cold at Home
We’re in the Orlando, FL area this week and will be in south Texas next week. So warmth is in our forecast. I just checked in on the house and wow – cold!!

How to improvise in a hotel when the sink drain won’t stay closed!
Necessity is the mother of invention they say. I’m no inventor but I can be crafty on command. The Jameson Inn in Elkhart has some bathroom sinks where the drains do not like to stay closed. Not too handy for shaving. This time, I improvised with a cup 🙂
