Disney World – Day 1 – Disney’s Magic Kingdom

We arrived at Disney World around 1:30 today. We’ll have some fun and I’ll base my work out of Fort Wilderness for the next 5 days.

This afternoon, we headed over to the Magic Kingdom. There’s a bus stop on the road behind our RV. We took a short bus ride to the boat docks and took the boat from Fort Wilderness to Magic Kingdom.

Once off the boat, we headed for the turnstyles and used our wrist bands to get in the park. Here was our first view…

We took the Walt Disney World Railroad and road around much of the Magic Kingdom, getting off at the Main Street station.

We did the Pirates of the Caribbean ride/adventure. It was a boat ride. It was okay.

The Hall of Presidents was pretty neat. They had a nice presentation about the office and spotlighted many presidents. There were pretty life-like animatronics of each president. That was pretty cool.

We did the Haunted Mansion ride. Not very scary, but that was okay for us.

We didn’t take a tour of it, but we walked up to and through a small area of iconic Cinderella’s Castle. I took a daytime picture of the castle but the nighttime image was even better.

Liberty Square area was a place we found ourselves weaving in and out of throughout the afternoon and evening. We popped into a few stores in the area.

We saw Mickey’s Philhar Magic – a 3D movie.

We ate at Liberty Tree Tavern. Food was served family-style. At $31.99 per person, we thought is was pretty high-priced, but the food was excellent.

We finished dinner a few minutes after 7 pm. Just in time to see Disney’s Electric Parade going by the entrance of our restaurant. I took a couple short video clips. Here they are, combined into a single short movie…
