Travel Day 1 – TN to Indy, Cousin Visit, an Amazing Bloody Mary and Pork Tenderloin Sandwich
Today is travel day 1 of 2. We’re on our way to Shipshewana, IN for the 2014 Spring Indiana Rally.
We traveled about 375 miles today and are at Heartland RV Resort in Greenfield, IN on the NE corner of Indianapolis.
Nancy contacted her cousin Steve S today to see if he and Janice could met us for dinner. Turns out Janice just left today for Florida to visit her family. But Steve was game to visit none-the-less. He came by the RV around 7 pm for a quick visit before we headed to town for dinner.
We asked Steve to pick a place. He had several ideas for us and we chose Tick Tock Lounge.
Steve said Tick Tock is known for their Bloody Mary’s and Pork Tenderloin sandwiches. Well, all I can say is WOW!
I’m not a huge fan of Bloody Mary’s but if it’s chock-full of stuff, I’ll have one. My friend Dave H makes a great one. Well, this Bloody Mary at Tick Tock was really unique. Must have been 500 calories minimum too! They used bacon infused vodka for starters. Then they added a bunch of things to the glass as garnish:
– Crisp Bacon Strip
– Lime Wedge
– Skewer of Fried Tater Tots
– Skewer with Green Olives, Cheese Cubes and Pepperoni Slices
It was pretty darned good!
And here’s the star 🙂
We all really enjoyed the pork tenderloin. Not too thick and not too thin. Cooked just right. I had onion rings and Nancy had waffle fries. Both were good but I favored the rings most.
As Steve drove us to the restaurant, he came in for a longer visit after he brought us back to the RV. He and Nancy were able to catch up on family happenings and such. Really nice guy and a nice visit.
We head out for Sam’s Club in the morning, then onto Shipshewana and should put in by dinner time.
