At 3,043 miles on my truck (2007 Ford F550 chassis cab with Chariot 7-door aluminum hauler bed upfit), it was time to change the oil out to Synthetic. My buddy David assisted me. While draining the used oil, I noticed some oil on the transmission housing. Often times, this indicates a potential main seal leak. Hoping this is not my issue. I need to clean the area up with brake cleaner and keep an eye on it. If it persists, it will have to go into Ford to look at. While changing the oil, I changed my oil plug out to a Fumoto brass valve. No more wrenching the plug in and out. I will just hookup a section of clean vinyl hose, drop it into a container and open the valve. Sweet 🙂
