Landscaping our Colorado Home

On August 29th, 2016, Nancy and I closed on a small home, built in 2002.  The home is in the Paint Brush Hills subdivision in unincorporated El Paso County in an area called Falcon.  It’s roughly 10 miles east of of the north side of Colorado Springs.

It’s a nice, small ranch style home, about 1600+ square feet with a half-finished basement on just shy of a half-acre lot.IF

The properties behind us are at a higher elevation and our yard gets some of their rain runoff.  Our backyard has two terraced levels.  A small deck walks out onto the lower terrace.  We are having significant landscaping done to this lower terraced area to make it usable for us and the dogs.

I’ll continue to update this blog post with progress images of the backyard.  These first pictures are the “before” images.

Today’s (22-Sep) backyard progress… They removed the flagstone patio and prepped the area for a concrete patio and shed pad.  Later today, they’ll form it up and tomorrow at 7 am, they’ll pour it.

We’re also improving the gravel RV parking spot on the end of the house. We’re adding 50 amp power to the back of the run, changing a guest power outlet to 50 amp and pouring a pad 19 feet wide x 110 feet long. We’ll park our RV and truck on the pad and have room in front of our truck for a guest RV and be able to provide them with 50 amp power and water. There’s availability of home depot truck rental liftgate that one can easily get.
