Disney World – Day 2 – Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Disney’s Hollywood Studios was our primary plan today followed by Wilderness Lodge this evening.
We began the day by using the Fort Wilderness bus system to get to the transportation hub. Then we boarded a bus to Hollywood Studios. We waited about a half hour for the right bus to Hollywood Studios, then it took about 30 minutes in traffic to get there. Long trip.
The Great Movie Ride was first on our list. This attraction was in a building done in the style of Mann’s Chinese Theater. The ride was nice.
We ate lunch at the ABC Commissary. Single $ in cost and simple menu. We liked it. Saving money for a spendy dinner at Wilderness Lodge tonight 🙂
Beauty and the Beast – Live On Stage was next. We sat in a covered outdoor pavilion. It was a really nice live show.
Star Tours – The Adventures Continue… This was a Star Wars themed motion ride. It was good. Don’t take it if motion rides make you queasy.
Muppet Vision 3D Show… This one was a last moment add-on. It was raining out when we left the Star Tours attraction and Muppet Vision 3D was right next door. Why not 🙂 I was a bit sleepy, so I saw most, but not all of it. The 3D was very good. It was a fun show.
Throughout the day at Hollywood Studios, I captured Virtual Munzees. I did not attempt to walk the entire property to cap them. If we were in an area that had them, I snagged them. I didn’t have a 1K day like yesterday, but still got a bunch.
The bus ride home was WAY faster than the one to Hollywood Studios. I also capped some Virtual Munzees on the way home 🙂
We had planned on eating at the SciFi Diner but changed that to going to the Artist Point Restaurant at Wilderness Lodge. We took the boat over to Wilderness Lodge.
Before dinner, we walked around the lodge, inside and out and had a glass of wine outdoors.
I walked down to the pool area for the 6 pm firing of the “Fire Rock Geyser“, modeled after the Old Faithful geyser.
For dinner, I started with the Smoky Portobello Mushroom soup and Nancy started with a salad. It’s been a few years since I’ve had this soup. Still so yummy! Nancy had Scallops and I had Salmon for dinner. Both very good.
Fireworks from the Magic Kingdom… As our boat pulled into the dock at Fort Wilderness from our short ride home from dinner at Wilderness Lodge, fireworks began to explode over the lake in the distance. It was precisely 8 pm and the fireworks were from the Magic Kingdom. Perfect! We sat near the beach with about 100 other people and watched the entire fireworks show while listening to Disney music that was synchronized to the show.
