Las Vegas, NV Trip – Day 1 – Travel Day

Monday, November 11, 2013
This blog post covers day 1 of a 7 day work trip to Las Vegas, Nevada this week.  We’re going to Vegas to do some scouting for the North American Heartland Owners Rally that we’d like to put on here in 2016.

We’re flying out of Nashville, TN (BNA) tomorrow (Tuesday), so we headed to Nashville today.  On the way to Nashville, we stopped at The Hermitage, home of U.S. President Andrew Jackson. See this blog post for our Hermitage visit.

After our visit to The Hermitage, we picked up Lisa And Mike and took them out to dinner at Logan’s Roadhouse.  We had a nice meal and we all used Logan’s “Two for $13” deal.  That was nice.  After dinner, went to Sweet CeCe’s for some frozen yogurt 🙂 They were having their “No Weigh November” for the small cup.  Perfect!  Then it was off to the Holiday Inn Express for the evening. 5:30 am arrives early 🙂

The Nashville King – Nashville, TN

We took Lisa B and Mike P with us tonight to see John Beardsley – The Nashville King (website). When we were talking about going and found the tickets to cost $26 each, I had to do a bit of research before I committed. I found dozens of reviews on Trip Advisor (link to reviews). 4.5 out of 5 stars across that many reviews – sounded good to me!

Well, John Beardsley did not disappoint. We got our $26 worth for sure. Great show! This guy has a TON of energy. He really rocked it as Elvis. His whole team, from his wife who runs the office side of the show to his musicians and stage crew – all great!

We didn’t take any pictures but below I’ll flatter a few people who took pictures and put them online.
